Welcome Wolfpack!

Wolfpack Parents,

Welcome to the 2024 Spring Lacrosse Registration.  If you joined us for the Fall last season, we hope you enjoyed the season and we look forward to seeing you again.  If you are a new player, we welcome you to the Plano West Lacrosse family!  We are continuing to build on the program and have made improvements to our program, adding more individual skill development for players.  We look forward to a rewarding season of fun play and development!

Our Spring program will consist of an 11-week session.  The season will kick off in mid-February and conclude at the beginning of May.

Here's how the season will look:  All schedules will be on SportsEngine and will be updated there if any changes occur.

1) We will kick the season off with a weekend seminar on February 10 & 11th - 2 hours each to kickstart the season.

2) Practices BEFORE spring break will be indoors at TOCA (121 & Sandy Lake) on Mondays - 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm for K-4th and 7:30 pm - 8:30 pm for 5th - 8th. No indoor Monday practice after spring break. After spring break, Monday practice will move to Tuesday at Hoblitzelle from 6 pm-7 pm for K-4th and 7 pm - 8:30 for 5th - 8th.

3) Field practices will be on Thursdays at Hoblitzelle or Renner (since our home field, Jack Carter, is still under renovation). 6 pm-7 pm for K-4th and 7 pm - 8:30 for 5th - 8th.

Games will be played on weekends unless weather issues force us to reschedule.  We may need to consider a weekday.  Opponents are determined by our League (DFW Youth Lacrosse).  This is not decided until mid-January.  We will not schedule practices or games during Spring Break.

Uniforms: For the fall season, Plano West Wolfpack Youth Lacrosse players will wear Wolfpack shorts (or black shorts) and our Wolfpack Jersey.

Equipment: All players are required to have a stick, helmet (white helmet preferred if you are purchasing a new one), chest protector, elbow pads, gloves, mouthguard and cleats (lacrosse, soccer or football all work).   An athletic cup is recommended.  If anyone plans to purchase a new chest protector, please know that beginning 2022, field players must wear protectors for Commotio Cordis (shoulder pads) that meet the NOCSAE ND200 standard and contain an SEI certification mark.  (To learn more about Commotio Cordis injuries and NOCSAE Standard ND200 go to www.uslacrosse.org/commotio)

Places to get gear:

Monkey Sports, Team Lax, Lacrosse Unlimited.

Registration Fees:

K-2nd - $175

3rd/4th - $280

5th/6th - $380

7th/8th - $430

If you register after January 10th, 2023, you will likely not get the number you request.  Please register before January 10th to claim your roster spot and request your number.

This year our program is continuing to emphasize building our Wolfpack Culture and Pride within the lacrosse community.  We will be more successful with greater involvement from our parents.  We encourage every family to participate and support their athlete in having an amazing season!  There are a variety of ways you can contribute.  Here are just a few things we need:

  • Team Managers- coordinate team social activities and provide general communication to parents, support the Youth Coordinator
  • Volunteer Coaches (particularly for our K12 and 3/4 teams)
  • Special Events Committee- ex: Black & Blue Family Event and Fundraising

Feel free to reach out to the Plano West Lacrosse Board with any questions or feedback.  We are looking forward to a great season and filling those stands with WOLFPACK PRIDE!
